Womens’ World Day of Prayer is an annual service prepared by women around the world.This year’s service was prepared by Christian women of Guyana and was held here in All Saints’ Church on the 7th March, with the theme “God’s wisdom provides new understanding” We were joined by ladies from Houghton Regis Baptist Church, St Vincent’s Roman Catholic Church and Holy Cross Church, Marsh Farm. Our speaker for the day was Mrs Pauline Watson, Churchwarden at Holy Cross Church.Our organist was Mr Nigel Steele and Mrs Chris Holloway led the service.
The service is hosted in turn by All Saints’ Church, Houghton Regis Baptist Church, St Vincent’s Roman Catholic Church and Holy Cross Church, Marsh Farm, and is a wonderful opportunity to meet the members of other churches for prayer and to enjoy a cup of tea and refreshments afterwards.
Forty-one people attended the service and a total of £106 was collected in offerings for the work of Womens’ World Day of Prayer Movement for Christian Literature Societies and for Christian Educational Projects
